The Sonic Arts Research Centre at Queen´s University, Belfast, in association with the International Computer Music Association and the Sonorities Festival of Contemporary Music, will host the ICMC 2008 conference between 24-29 August 2008 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

The theme for ICMC 2008 is "Roots/Routes". The Conference explores notions of placement and displacement in the context of music practice, and provides an opportunity for the investigation of the interface between technologies which develop through international collaboration and the specificity of music cultures rooted in a place.

ICMC 2008 invites submissions in all areas of computer music and related fields:

• February 8, 2008: Papers and music proposals must be submitted online.
• May 2008: Applicants will be notified of acceptance or rejection of papers, posters, demonstration, music proposals.
• June 1, 2008: Submission of camera-ready versions and performance/installation materials for accepted proposals.
